Skanska secures $957 million light rail contract in Los Angeles
A joint venture between Skanska and Stacy Witbeck has finalized a $1.9 billion agreement with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Skanska will record its $957 million share of the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project in its third-quarter order bookings for 2026.
Work on the transit corridor is already underway, with a scheduled completion date of December 2031. The project serves as a significant attempt to modernize public transportation options for residents in the San Fernando Valley region who have historically faced limited connectivity to the city’s wider transit system.
