Enginprime Medical Secures $12M to Advance Heart Assist Technology

Founded in 2023 by Voyagers Capital, Enginprime focuses on next-generation pVAD systems designed to deliver higher flow rates through a reduced catheter profile. The company’s flagship product, OpusOne, utilizes a foldable impeller to minimize clinical complications and expand patient eligibility for ventricular assist therapy. Chief Executive Officer Zhiyong Liu stated that the capital injection serves as a critical milestone for scaling the technology to meet competitive global standards.

Shuo Mao, Principal at Qiming Venture Partners, noted that the device addresses an untapped technological frontier, as no comparable foldable impeller system has yet secured broad regulatory approval. The startup emerged from Voyagers Capital’s venture creation model, combining cross-disciplinary engineering with specialized manufacturing. With this latest financing, the company aims to move beyond early-stage development and secure the clinical validation necessary for international commercialization.
