As organizations scramble to address the ethical and security risks of rapid AI adoption, Atlanta-based Keyfactor has secured ISO 42001 certification. The audit, performed by A-LIGN, validates the company’s implementation of a structured Artificial Intelligence Management System aimed at governing the deployment and lifecycle of its AI technologies.

Keyfactor Secures ISO 42001 Certification for AI Governance

The international standard provides a global framework for managing the transparency, bias, and privacy concerns that currently plague many enterprise AI deployments. By integrating these governance protocols into its existing security infrastructure, Keyfactor aims to move beyond siloed policies toward a scalable model of oversight. According to Gün Akkor, the company's Chief Product & Technology Officer, the certification serves as a proactive measure to satisfy emerging regulatory requirements, including the EU AI Act.

Keyfactor’s approach focuses on embedding accountability directly into its trust infrastructure, ensuring that machine identities and cryptographic workloads remain secure as AI capabilities expand. The certification signals a shift for the firm, positioning responsible AI management as a core operational competency rather than an auxiliary compliance task. This framework provides a benchmark for clients who require assurance that the AI systems powering their digital environments are developed with verified ethical and security standards.
