Tom Speir Named Chief Financial Officer at United Community
United Community has appointed veteran banking executive Tom Speir as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer. Starting September 8, Speir will oversee the institution's capital management, strategic planning, and investor relations, stepping into the role vacated by the retiring Jefferson Harralson at the Greenville-based bank.

United Community currently manages $29.1 billion in assets, operating 200 offices across the Southeast. The bank has maintained a long-standing reputation for retail customer satisfaction, frequently cited by J.D. Power and American Banker. As the company looks toward its next growth phase, Speir’s mandate focuses on maintaining that financial trajectory while integrating into the leadership team in South Carolina.
