IceCure Taps Scovas Medical to Expand Cryoablation in the Netherlands

IceCure Taps Scovas Medical to Expand Cryoablation in the Netherlands

The partnership leverages the Netherlands’ established interest in interventional radiology and treatment de-escalation. By appointing Scovas as its exclusive distributor, IceCure seeks to capitalize on the success of the THERMAC trial, which previously identified the ProSense system as the top performer among various thermal ablation technologies. Clinical data from the study highlighted a 94% success rate and a 0% complication rate, alongside total patient tolerance without general anesthesia.

Eyal Shamir, CEO of IceCure Medical, noted that the move is a strategic pillar of the company's broader European commercialization efforts. Beyond improving patient quality of life and cosmetic outcomes, the company anticipates that the adoption of cryoablation will help lower overall healthcare costs. Scovas will provide the necessary local clinical support and existing procedural networks to facilitate the transition toward these image-guided, outpatient-friendly oncology procedures.
