The recruits will operate under the leadership of Stephen M. Sherline, who stepped into his role as co-head of City National Private Bank and head of the Western Region this August. These additions follow a broader leadership restructuring overseen by Brandon Williams, the executive vice president and head of Private Bank & Wealth Management, aimed at scaling the firm’s advisory capabilities.

City National Bank Expands Wealth Management Team Across California
Ten seasoned private bankers have joined City National Bank to bolster its services for high-net-worth clients across Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Bay Area. This expansion signals a strategic push to capture the state’s swelling affluent demographic by integrating specialized wealth management, lending, and estate planning expertise.

As a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Canada, City National currently manages $98 billion in assets. The new team members, stationed in hubs from Beverly Hills to San Francisco, are tasked with providing bespoke financial guidance to entrepreneurs, business owners, and nonprofit leaders. The cohort includes senior private bankers James Arom, Kamil Dalgic, Houman Davoudi, Amr Elgamal, Dustin Hansen, and Cheryl Keilman, alongside client manager Houri Arevyan and private bankers Ratoya Dawson, Travis Ortega, and David Patton. This talent influx supports the bank's long-term objective to combine boutique-style client attention with the institutional reach of its parent organization.
