The brand’s internal data highlights a growing trend among international travelers who are extending their time in the Kansai region. Average stays across MIMARU’s five existing Osaka properties climbed to 3.09 nights in 2025, a 5.3% rise from the previous year. This aligns with broader prefecture figures, which recorded a record 17.6 million international visitors in 2025, a 21% jump. Data from the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau suggests that European visitors now spend an average of 3.7 nights in the city, encouraging them to venture beyond traditional tourist hubs into areas like the Minoh forest trails or the historic ninja heritage sites in Koka.

MIMARU Expands Osaka Footprint as European Interest Surges
A 10.4% year-on-year increase in European guests has prompted MIMARU to open its latest apartment hotel in Osaka on September 1. The new Shinsaibashi CENTRAL property brings the brand’s national portfolio to 28 locations and 1,500 rooms, signaling a shift in travel patterns where tourists prioritize deeper regional exploration.

Located just a two-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Station, the new property features 66 residential-style units, each measuring at least 40 square meters. By providing kitchens, dining areas, and laundry facilities, the hotel caters to longer-term stays for families and groups. Mao Mochizuki, International PR at Cosmos Hotel Management, noted that the brand functions as a base for guests to explore Japan at their own pace. To facilitate this, the hotel employs staff from 39 different countries who provide localized recommendations for day trips that remain largely undiscovered on standard travel websites.
