Binance Adds Trump Media Tokenized Shares as Margin Collateral

Binance has integrated its tokenized Trump Media & Technology Group security, DJTB, into its margin collateral system. Starting August 26, high-volume traders can use the asset to support leveraged positions, marking a significant expansion of the exchange's bStocks product line for users outside the United States.

Binance Adds Trump Media Tokenized Shares as Margin Collateral

The new functionality allows VIP 3 users and above to pledge DJTB as collateral within cross margin and unified account modes. While the exchange has enabled margin trading for the DJTB/USDT pair, borrowing the token itself remains prohibited. Binance applies a specific collateral ratio to the asset to determine its contribution to an account’s borrowing capacity, a figure subject to change based on shifting market volatility.

Investors should note that DJTB provides only economic exposure to Trump Media’s share price rather than direct ownership. Holders are not listed on the company’s corporate shareholder register, and the token operates independently from the reward tokens previously issued by Trump Media. These tokenized securities are offered exclusively under documentation approved by the Abu Dhabi Global Market and remain strictly unavailable to U.S. persons or entities.

Alongside the collateral update, Binance launched spot trading for DJTB/USDT, accompanied by zero maker fees until August 31. This move follows the recent introduction of a 20x leverage perpetual contract for Trump Media stock, further diversifying the exchange's synthetic equity offerings. As of now, the exchange has not outlined plans to lower the VIP 3 threshold for this specific product or to allow borrowing of the DJTB token.
