Bolt, a 3-year-old German shorthaired pointer stationed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, has been crowned the winner of the Transportation Security Administration’s annual Cutest Canine Contest. The agency announced the results following a social media campaign where the traveling public cast their votes for the top explosives detection dog.
TSA Administrator David P. Cummins noted that while the contest serves as a lighthearted public engagement tool, it underscores the serious nature of the agency's security operations. Explosives detection teams are a core component of airport safety, trained at the national facility in San Antonio to detect threats in high-traffic environments. Bolt's handler, Daphne Wang, described her partner as an intense worker who maintains high energy both on and off duty. The canine will be featured in the upcoming 2027 TSA Canine Calendar alongside the other finalists, including runner-up Ember from Orlando International Airport.
