ANA Calls on Marketing Industry to Pause for AI Skill-Building

On September 17, 2026, the marketing industry is hitting a collective pause button. The Association of National Advertisers is hosting its annual Global Day of Learning, compelling thousands of professionals to step away from immediate deadlines to master the AI-driven tools reshaping their profession.

ANA Calls on Marketing Industry to Pause for AI Skill-Building

The initiative, dubbed "Push Pause and Power Up," shifts focus from daily deliverables to long-term capability. Organized by the ANA Global CMO Growth Council, the program targets the urgent need for human judgment in an era dominated by synthetic audiences and automated agents. Rather than speculating on abstract trends, the event provides hands-on training for deploying custom GPTs and AI agents through platforms like Claude, Gemini, and Copilot.

Industry veterans, including executives from Mastercard, General Motors, and The LEGO Group, will lead sessions on the evolving landscape of media measurement and brand co-creation. Nick Primola, Group Executive Vice President at the ANA, suggests the day is an exercise in organizational evolution, forcing leaders to identify exactly where human expertise retains its value. Since its inception, the event has attracted over 20,000 participants from more than 100 countries, positioning itself as a primary training ground for marketers navigating the transition toward AI-integrated workflows.
