The security firm identified the malicious activity through its monitoring systems, tracing the incident to a specific transaction starting with “0x89d805064”. While the breach successfully removed value from the liquidity provider pair, TenArmorAlert has not yet disclosed how the attacker gained the authorization to trigger the sell() function or if specific access controls were bypassed during the assault.

CCC Token Suffers $117,000 Exploit on BNB Smart Chain
An attacker drained approximately $117,000 from the CCC token ecosystem on August 28 by manipulating the project’s smart contract. Security firm TenArmorAlert reported that the exploit centered on the contract’s sell() function, which was weaponized to burn tokens directly from the project’s liquidity pool, triggering immediate price instability.

As of the initial alert, the project team had not issued a post-mortem report, nor had they provided updates regarding fund recovery or potential compensation for affected liquidity providers. The exploit marks another entry in a series of security incidents targeting liquidity infrastructure on the BNB Smart Chain this year, echoing previous vulnerabilities where contract-level functions were manipulated to alter pool balances. Analysts note that the mechanism bears technical similarities to past incidents, such as the 2023 SafeMoon exploit, where public burn functions were similarly turned against protocol assets.
