International Paper Sets Date for EMEA Packaging Spin-off Briefing
Leadership of International Paper’s EMEA Packaging unit will convene in London on November 3, 2026, to outline the strategic trajectory of the business as it prepares to transition into an independent, publicly traded entity operating under the name DS Smith plc.

This transition is slated to occur via a spin-off, resulting in a listing on the London Stock Exchange alongside a Level II ADR program on the New York Stock Exchange. The completion of the separation remains contingent upon final approval from the International Paper Board of Directors, as well as regulatory clearance from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority. While leadership is moving forward with the organizational split, the firm noted that the final timing and structure of the spin-off are still subject to customary closing conditions.
