HR HealthCare Acquires SteriGear to Expand Urology Portfolio

By absorbing SteriGear LLC and its Fig Leaf brand, York-based HR HealthCare is moving to consolidate its footprint in the urology market. The acquisition integrates specialized urinary drainage devices into the company's existing platform, aiming to provide a single-source supply chain for providers across acute, post-acute, and home-care settings.

HR HealthCare Acquires SteriGear to Expand Urology Portfolio

The deal brings the Fig Leaf line—known for its discreet design that hides fluid from view—under the HR HealthCare umbrella alongside its own TruCath products. While these items have historically seen the most traction in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, HR HealthCare CEO Colby Wiesman plans to leverage the company’s existing distribution networks to push the products into broader health systems and home-care environments.

For clinicians and procurement teams, the merger promises a streamlined approach to sourcing. Chris Wiesman, the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, noted that consolidating the portfolios allows the firm to act as a unified partner, simplifying how care teams manage, implement, and train on urological equipment. The transition plan keeps the Fig Leaf brand intact, though SteriGear branding will be phased out in favor of HR HealthCare’s identity by August 1, 2026. Current product specifications and item numbers remain unchanged to ensure continuity for existing clients.
