The shears feature tapered, sharp tips designed to pierce cable jacketing with minimal resistance. Departing from traditional scissor designs, the tool replaces cumbersome finger loops with an ergonomic, ambidextrous grip. Cushioned rubber handles and an integrated return spring aim to reduce user fatigue during repetitive production tasks.

Constructed from alloyed steel, the blades are heat-treated to a hardness of 58-60 RC to ensure durability against tough synthetic fabrics. The Model 9180 is manufactured in the United States and carries a list price of $33.75.
